Painting Day!

Got ready for a painting day - got out the brushes, paint cans and rollers.
Brian got dressed up!
I got sent off to 'It's got our name on it ... 'Wi..ckes' to buy some new rollers.
There I hit a quandry.
Found a cellophane pack of 5 new rollers for £12.25.
But there was a set of Tray, 2 rollers with handle for £4.49.
Glad that in my day they taught us Mental Arithmetic because I ended up with ...
1 roller, 3 trays and 3 handles for £1.22 (plus the required 5 rollers @ £12.25)
Result!
Here's some of the Gentle Fawn going on .. it's almost finished now.
Had sausage and fusilli spinach bake thing for tea.

Operation coving

Didn't start very early as we had to wait until 'It's got our name on it ..... Wi-ickes' managed to deliver the delicate plaster coving bundles and the gloop.
Always fun to start doing something new!
By the time we got to the fourth side of the study, apart from boggling the corners a bit, we'd got the hang of it!
Here's the day's effort .......
Cornice in place.

Horrified at accumulated 'stuff'

Excesses of Christmas over and thoughts turned to doing a bit of DIY.
"Let's start with the study"  - yeah!

Do you realise the hoarding instincts of Squirrel Nutkin is as nothing to the hoarding instinct of a child of parental hoarders!  But they had an excuse - they had survived the deprivations of wartime!

Onward!  Grab it by the fluffy tail!

First was to set up the computer stations in the dining room - important as a place of escapism when the work gets too well, overdemanding!
the new 'office'
Next, empty all the IKEA office cupboards of their stuff .......
Books
Got bored with the whole effort, so decided to take some pics of the mess and write about the challenge ahead!
This is a quick shot of the obstacle course - I'll sort some of it out tomorrow ...

and finally a pic of Harry!
