Panama 2012

Outside the Radar tower watching the hummingbird feeders

 A sloth in a tree

A very tired Howler monkey

A  crimson-backed Tanager - looks like glorious velvet

These pics were taken trying the technique of digi-scoping - where you put your poxy zoom camera up to the eyepiece of a telescope and try and take a picture!

The Panama Canal on a quiet stretch

There's also a Panama canal train line for carrying cargo from one ocean to the other

Two Motmots (small)

Two Motmots larger!

Two tiny Owl Monkeys peeping out of a hole in a palm tree

This is them using the digi scope method (well, me doing the digiscoping!)

In the left upper corner of the pic you can see the telescope rim.

Bang in the middle is a 3 toed sloth.

Closer ...

And even closer but with the telescope eyepiece making the frame
Sloth was drenched and very wet from the overnight rain

Very distant Toucans!
